Dear Fatty
Letters to My Younger Self
$4.00
26 pages/Half size
by Rachelle Abellar & contributors
Dear Fatty is a beautiful zine filled with letters written by eighteen contributors from ages 19-37 to their younger selves. These intimate letters speak the raw truth about what each one had to face each day - the body-shaming, the fear, the judgment, but the letters are also filled with hope and encouragement.
From Tabachoy by Rachelle Abellar:
Regardless of what everyone tells you, being fat will not prevent you from finding love, from yourself or from other people. You will find yourself in a handful of romantic relationships. You will learn a lot from being with these partners, but the most valuable thing you will take away is the realization that you are beautiful and you deserve to be loved, deeply, by someone who accepts every wobbly bit of you.

FAT-TASTIC!

FAT-TASTIC!
A compilation zine about loving your body.
Winter 2011
$2.00
16 pages/Half size
by Sage & contributors
This compilation zine is filled with stories revolving around being fat, dealing with fatphobia, loving your body and more. The pieces range from fatness in American culture, fatphobic family members, childhood bullies and inspiring words about body acceptance. It contains fat positive art & there is also a DIY tutorial on how to make positive affirmation cards.
An excerpt from Jennafur, "The focus on weight is one way in which the patriarchy controls us, owns, and divides us. I have had to dig deep to reflect on the realize that as an extremely fat woman that I have more in common with women of smaller weight sizes than I originally thought. When I put the weight factor aside, I realized my struggles and triumphs of being a woman are based on being a woman, not based on my waistline or the numbers on a scale. When women begin choosing their lifestyles and lives based on their personal ideas, feelings, and experiences, they are choosing to live outside of the bounds of a media-fed, patriarchy-fueled existence."

From the interview, Yoga For Every Body: My mom took me to my first Weight Watchers meeting when I was 11. So for me to be in my body – to just feel good and not self-conscious or self-loathing – well, that was monumental. It was from that moment that I got hooked on yoga.
