Rad Rag
Your Flow is Fly!

24 pages/Quarter size
by Nyxia Grey
This zine is straight up beautiful (color pages & lovely layout) and talks about something dear to my vagina - MENSTRUATION. I adore Nyxia's writing. She's no-holds- barred when it comes to talking about periods and I absolutely love that. This zine is chock full of information about the evil ways the media portrays our period, myths (and facts) about periods, the magic behind our cycle, the yucky chemicals behind tampons & pads, but with an uplifting section containing healthy alternatives!

by Mat
This is the zine I want to carry with me to read again and again. It's collection worthy. Mat's writing is great and pulls you right in - whether he is talking about gardening or dreaming, you are all in.
In this issue of Resist, Mat writes about making a huge change in his life, biking, starting new gardens with a new partner, and a detailed story about buying a turkey and butchering it for Thanksgiving. There are awesome pieces (with info so you can do-it-yourself) about installing an exterior spigot, building an emergency bike pedal, and setting up a worm compost.
His writing is thoughtful and inspiring. PS: This zine includes a seed packet - go garden!
I just figure that we only get one chance at this life, so we might as well take some risks and attempt to spend it doing something we really enjoy, rather than spending it swallowing our passions just to keep things running smoothly.

Minneapolis from the Saddle, A Winter Cycling Journal
$6.00
52 pages/4" x 4"
by Mat
This is indeed a cycling journal of Mat biking throughout the city of Minneapolis in super cold temperatures. Cold enough to freeze his eyelids shut - wowza! I have recently started biking and this zine made me want to leave the comfort of my warm apartment and bike around my town. Mat is an awesome storyteller. I personally loved the bit about giving his sweetheart a ride on his handlebars.

$1.00

by Sage
Tabling can be an excellent time to meet new people and share your recent work, but let's be real, for those of us who are naturally anxiety ridden, zine fests can also trigger some uncomfortable feelings even though we are excited to be there. I've included some relatively easy and affordable tips to consider when preparing for your next zine event.
Please remember to breathe.
Have fun!
Awkward moments are okay.

Stuff & Things #1

Stuff and Things #1

by Heather Kennedy
Heather writes about some big changes in her life that deals with work, furthering her education, and mental health stuff. She includes a recipe for Spanish Veggie Lasagna, highlights the good and bad of last year, and includes a few motivational quotes. I especially liked her pieces about raising chickens, discovering the ins and outs of friendship, and an outdoor pillow fight.
I thought being laid off was a push into freedom from office life, but after being rejected for so many job applications I really questioned my worth as a person. It was hard.
